For George Floyd, his family and his community, we are heartbroken and outraged. The sheer cruelty of this murder, on top of the 100+ (that we know of) Black and Brown people killed by police just in the last few years, horrifies us. We grieve for all of the people in families and communities that have been violated by centuries of racial injustice and the current pandemic of racial violence. We believe it is time to STOP what we are doing. We have hope that the protests will keep on and that we will LISTEN to the message. In the words of a former journalist, “Racism is more than simply a stain on the fabric of America – racism IS the fabric of America.”
